Maybe it's the wine speaking, the excitement of the end of the week, or the cute guy at work, but I'm very giggly tonight. I had to turn off The Daily Show because I was afraid my neighbors would think me crazy for all the laughing...but nevermind, I'm sure they do already--if not for the random giggles and off-key singing coming from this apartment, then at least for the neurotic kittycat that also lives here.
Speaking of Mr. Tux, he got really brave tonight, and actually ventured out of the apartment and made it halfway up the stairs to the 3rd floor before I caught him! He's never done that before. When I picked him up, he was shaking a little bit. The adventure up the stairs was too much for him. Such a scaredy cat!
Work wasn't bad today. After 4 AAAs in 2 days, we all deserved a slower day. It's looking like my necrotizing fasciitis patient isn't doing so well. He's still intubated and in the SICU. He came back today for a debridement and 2nd+3rd toe amputation. He's scheduled for a below-knee amputation on Monday. It's in his leg and arm and spreading. Doesn't look very good for him. Our schedule doesn't look too bad for tomorrow, but Dr. Steers and Ajay are notorious for finding transplants on Fridays. We'll see. I'm still trying to switch my call shift on Sunday so I can spend the weekend with the fam. Fedora is playing and Danielle is graduating with her MLS from UW-Madison.
peace and love,
m
